Keeping Your Home & Your Mind Organized While Quarantined!
Our attorney Amy L. Miller interviews Professional Organizer Elaine Fernando, Organized Transitions LLC – www.organizedtransitionsllc.com – Linkedin.com/in/elainefernando
Elaine: My name is Elaine Fernando and I am the owner of Organized Transition in the US. We provide professional organizing as well as move management for both residential and business needs. I would like to mention that we do have senior move management and estate organizing. I am here this afternoon is to talk about organizing your mind as well as your home these days it is very challenging and I think is very important for all of us to have a strong mind so that we can weather this out.
Amy: Let´s say I got my mind organized. I have time blocked myself. That is great I know when I am going to work. I know what I am going to eat. When I am going to wake. How do I get my house organized because we’re we all are all the time? And I have three kids, they are everywhere, their stuff is everywhere and it is just hard to know where to begin.
Elaine: Well, you are more fortunate than others because you do have some help. But when you are at home, especially with younger children below the ages of 8/9 it becomes a little bit more challenging. But organizing you could do it in small pieces. You do not have to hire someone to come in and get you organized because this should be a process of a family, so I would say do it small and make it fun. For instance, even for my grandchildren, I tell my daughter to put a laundry basket or a nice basket in the living room, in the dining room wherever their toys are and then you teach each child to put away their toys or their books in their respective baskets and put it away before dinner or put it away before bedtime. But just so it is out of sight and out of mind and it gives you some form of release, stress less, a lot less overwhelmed rather than seeing it all over the place.
